In October 2023, the Tl’etinqox Government Office agreed to collaborate with NENQAYNI co-founders Trevor Mack & Alejandra Valeria.

The Tl’etinqox International Cultural Garden Centre's 2024 season celebrated an inspiring blend of community, agriculture, and cultural revitalization. Led by Trevor Mack, Alejandra Valeria, and Horacio Duran, the project was rooted in indigenous agricultural practices, ceremonial traditions, and the vision of fostering food sovereignty. Beginning in April and finishing in October 2024, the team transformed the community garden into a vibrant space, nurturing native seedlings, constructing sustainable garden beds, and holding ceremonies to honour the land. Despite challenges, including administrative misalignments and limited creative resources, the team cultivated an abundant harvest while building alliances with local and international indigenous communities.

Throughout the season, the garden became a hub of activity, hosting workshops, inter-community collaborations, and the inaugural Potato Harvest Ceremony and Festival. These events not only celebrated traditional food systems but also engaged youth and elders, uniting the community in shared purpose. Partnerships with organizations like REFARMERS and exchanges with Quechua agriculturalists enriched the project's scope, emphasizing the universal values of sustainable farming and cultural preservation.

By the season's end, the Tl’etinqox garden had produced a bounty of vegetables and fruits, completed innovative infrastructure like an in-ground gathering space, and laid the groundwork for future initiatives. The team’s efforts exemplified resilience and dedication, transforming the garden into a model for indigenous-led, sustainable development, and a source of pride for the Tl’etinqox community.
